KERANG overcame a spirited first half from Cohuna Kangas in Saturday’s fourth round of A-grade netball in the Central Murray FNL competition. 

The Kangas led 9-8 at quarter-time at Kerang’s Riverside Park, but the Blues lifted to win the second, 11-8. 

After the main break it was the Blues who charged clear as they won the third, 19-8, and the last, 17-12, to record a 55-37 victory. 

Courtney Robertson scored 29 goals for Kerang as Keiarah Brooks added 26. 

The Kangas’ attack was led by Kobie McIvor, 19, and Carmen Dye, 18. 

Lake Boga won a closely-fought contest with Tyntynder at Lake Boga Sports Club. 

The Magpies led 11-8 at quarter-time and then won the second, 16-10. 

Tyntynder fought back strongly to cut the deficit by three goals in the third, but it was the Magpies who took the points in a 46-40 result. 

Sarah Hepburn hit a game-high 38 goals for Lake Boga as Katie Hepburn added eight. 

Tyntynder’s attack was led by Kimberley Calvert, 25, and Kelsey Rowe, 15. 

Balranald was too strong for Koondrook Barham in a 40-goal victory on the Barham court. 

The Roos led 14-4 at quarter-time and then won the second, 19-8. 

Balranald went on to win 66-26. 

Ella Mirtschin led Balranald’s attack on 34 goals as Jess Perry added 19 and Madison Jess chipped in with 13. 

Goalscorers for Koondrook Barham were Shanae O’Donoghue, 18, and Remy Doyle, 8. 

Mallee Eagles soared to a 44-goal win against Tooleybuc Manangatang at Tooleybuc. 

Kellie Walker dominated for the Eagles to score 56 goals as Megan Thorneycroft chipped in with 23. 

Swan Hill won all quarters on its way to a 67-29 victory against Nyah Nyah West United at Swan Hill. 

The Swans dominated the first half to lead 35-17 at the main break. 

With Ingrid Condely hitting a game-high 40 goals and Zoe Morris, 18 goals, and Casey Frame, nine, also on target it was Swan Hill which marked a 67-29 victory. 

Leading goalscorer for Nyah Nyah West United was Denise Snyder on 14.

Balranald and Lake Boga meet on the Kangaroos’ ground at Balranald’s Greenham Park. 

Cohuna tackles Swan Hill at Cohuna Recreation Reserve. 

Nyah Nyah West United meets Tooleybuc Manangatang in the battle of the Demons and Saints at Nyah Recreation Reserve. 

Mallee Eagles have the bye.
