SWAN HILL BEATS TYNTYNDER IN KING’S BIRTHDAY MATCH

SWAN Hill took the points against an inaccurate Tyntynder in the Central Murray FNL’s senior footy clash on the King’s Birthday holiday weekend.

The Swans and Bulldogs met in a stand-alone match under Swan Hill’s lights on Saturday night.

The match also completed the sixth round of the Radio 3SH-backed season.

Swan Hill led 16-2 at quarter-time and then opened a 17-point lead by the main break.

The Bulldogs had plenty of play in the second, but added just five behinds to be down 7-24 at half-time.

Term three went Tyntynder’s way, 25-12, to be within a goal at a quarter to play.

Swan Hill scored 2.4 to a goal in the last to complete a 52-36 victory.

Matt Wade capped a best afield performance with two goals for Swan Hill as Jett Hinton, Lachlan Joyce, Sonny Beasy, Toby Thoolen and Lachlan Vrolijks were also on target.

Goalkickers for Tyntynder were Matt Corney, two; Zac Denham and Liam Whelan.

Best for Swan Hill were Matt Wade, Xavier Moloney, Toby Thoolen, Brandon Houlihan, Adam Manning and Matthew Pearse.

Matt Corney, Matt Gilbee, Elliot Broad, Liam Whelan, Josh Stone and Patrick Crowe worked hard for the Bulldogs.

 

SWAN HILL OUTPOINTS TYNTYNDER IN KING’S BIRTHDAY MATCH

SWAN Hill won all quarters of Saturday’s A-grade netball clash with Tyntynder in the Central Murray FNL season.

The Swans and Bulldogs played a stand-alone match to complete the sixth round.

After winning the opening term, 17-10, Swan Hill upped the pressure to lead 37-20 by the long break.

Zoe Morris went on to score 56 goals in a 76-35 victory as Ingrid Condely chipped in with 17 goals and Casey Frame added three.

Goalers for Tyntynder were Kimberley Calvert, 18; and Kelsey Rowe, 17.

After being in front by just a goal at quarter-time of the A-reserve match, Swan Hill charged to a 31-21 lead by the main break.

Tyntynder lifted to win the third, 10-9, but the Swans scored a dozen goals in the last and held the Bulldogs to just nine to complete a 52-40 victory.

Jenna Jenkins led Swan Hill’s attack on 28 goals.

Tyntynder’s goalers were Sarah Hawley, 24; and Jessica Weaver, 16.

In B-grade, Swan Hill led 19-15 at half-time and charged clear after the break for a 39-22 victory.

Millie and Sophie Reed scored 20 and goals respectively.

Tyntynder’s attack was led by Jade Featherby on 15.

In B-reserve, Swan Hill won every quarter on its way to a 43-23 result.

Ryley Purcell scored 26 goals for the Swans.

Goalers for Tyntynder were Stacey Keefe, 12; and Chandelle Hazlett, 11.

Tyntynder marked a 16-goal victory in the 18-and-under competition.

The Bulldogs led 25-14 at half-time and dominated the third, 15-6, on the way to a 51-35 result.

A 14-3 opening term set up Swan Hill’s win in the 16-and-under match.

Isla Beasy scored 22 goals in a 34-23 victory.

Tyntynder netted a 25-18 win in the 14-and-under match.

Tyntynder turned a four-goal lead at half-time of the 12-and-under match into a nine-goal victory.

The Bulldogs led 13-9 at the main break and then won the third term, 7-1.

A closely-fought final term went the Swans way, but Tyntynder took the points in a 23-14 result.

Tyntynder’s attack was led by Eliza Lawry, 16 goals, as Scarlett Foott scored nine goals for Swan Hill.

 

The league hits the halfway mark of the home and away series next Saturday.

Lake Boga takes on Kerang at Lake Boga Sports Club.

Balranald plays Mallee Eagles at Balranald’s Greenham Park.

Tyntynder tackles Nyah Nyah West United at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve.

Koondrook Barham clashes with Swan Hill at Barham.

Woorinen takes on Tooleybuc Manangatang at Woorinen.

Cohuna Kangas have the bye.
