Win and You are In.
It is as simple as this: on Saturday, a victory over Murrabit will see Moulamein enter the final four. For the first time this season, it will be a joyous occasion as we intend to remain there for the rest of the season, potentially finishing as high as second. Moulamein is now playing exciting football and is a joy to behold. The thrills and spills of the game are magnificent to watch. When we do it well.
Adam Saunders and Brody Tonkin were very impressive, according to my fellow timekeeper, along with Ely Miller. Moulamein has never been blessed with so many great players and today saw how good we really can be.
The A-Grade netballers played a superb game and were victorious by almost 30 goals. It is amazing what they can do when you have ladies like Emily Michaelmore as goalkeeper, who was very productive on the day. It was commendable to witness the participation of the 17-and Under who joined the winers list on Saturday
This week we travel to Murrabit where we were always so great games in both the netball and the football. As our headline reads win and you are in has never been more prominent statement as the games on Saturday will prove to be.
I remember Leon Whelan was our coach, as his tirade lifted the roof off after we kicked 15 goals and still lost the game. Bugger. This Saturday, not only will we kick 15 goals, but we will be victorious by at least 30 points. One must envy the current crop of players as Moulamein’s never had such a competitive list, who are all great players. There are winners on every line and, as the old saying goes, “winners are grinners”, and winners Moulamein shall be. The A-Grade netballers will have to be at their very best to defeat Murrabit, who so far this season are undefeated. We have the talent, we have the ambition, we have the gameplay. Let’s go and defeat Murrabit the first time this season and move further up the netball ladder. It is rather nice to see all the sisters playing together and playing well.
It was good to see some of the Moulamein Swan Hill under-15 players playing for Moulamein as they had a bye, and they were welcomed back. One expects the other players to be happy as well, as quality footballers do make a tremendous difference to the side. One cannot leave out the B-grade netballers who need to defeat top of the table Murrabit and retain their position in the final four. We are good enough when we play well. There are several players here who could compete in A-grade netball. The C-grade team is improving and may achieve victory soon. Hopefully, it will happen this Saturday.
One cannot go on without mentioning the Northern Futures project. So far, there have been no decisions made, and you will be kept informed in the local media, as well as on social media, when something does occur.
Moulamein can be very thankful for having the best canteen in the league; the additional food was very tasty indeed. It is a credit to all concerned who join in and help out in the canteen, and these include netball players, football players, family members, as well as others who chip in when the line is back, back, back, which quite often it is. No wonder people like playing sport at the Moulamein recreation reserve when you are well fed and watered like they currently are today.
In the hot dog challenge. I did write that my hot dog suffered from stage fright, but I may have been mistaken. I did rate the hotdog and 9.3, which I thought was a fair school.
Both talent and skill are used to describe an aptitude for doing something. However, outside of casual use, talent is generally used to refer to something that someone is naturally good at, while skill is generally used to refer to something a person becomes good at through practice and training. Now that is deep.
This week, whilst we expect to win in all grades and divisions. It has been a long time since we have achieved this feat. Moulamein players, assuming that they play as they did last week, can be well satisfied with their Netball and Football performances. I expect Moulamein to continue pushing for the finals in both netball and football.
“Let’s wrap up our conversation and head out for lunch.” Today enjoy the Netball and the football and return to Moulamein as victors.
Plato said, “I know not how I may seem to others, but to myself I am but a small child wandering upon the vast shores of football/netball knowledge, every now and then finding a small bright pebble to content myself with”.
Dare we say we will have a clean sweep almost on Saturday?
