COHUNA KANGAS – ROUND 14 UPDATE

 

Despite the wild winter weather, the Kangas put in a massive effort across the board in Round 14, notching up big wins in both football and netball.

 

We also hosted our Annual Sponsors Day and Goods & Services Auction, which were a huge success. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, donors, and tireless committee who brought it all together.

 

Football Results

 

  • Seniors: Cohuna 15.9.99 def Tyntynder 3.5.23

A dominant display by the Kangas, who controlled the contest from start to finish. Jacob Mitchell was unstoppable up forward with 6 majors, supported by a fierce midfield unit and a rock-solid backline.

Another confident performance from the Ressies, who kept the scoreboard ticking over all afternoon. Jessie Mackenzie led the goal tally, while Tyson Farrant and Matt Robinson were standout contributors around the ground.

The Colts were slick in the wet, using the ball cleanly and applying relentless pressure. A shared spread of goalkickers and a strong showing from Liam Edge and Hudson Fountain set the tone.

Despite a solid effort, the young Kangas were outmatched by a well-drilled Tyntynder side. Tai Edwards and Dane O’Connell battled hard all game and showed great leadership.

  • Under 12s: Cohuna 6.5.41 def Tyntynder 1.0.6

A terrific all-round team performance from the U12s, who moved the ball with confidence and hit the scoreboard consistently. Jasper Clifford and Kobe Mathers were key playmakers in the win.

Netball Results

 

  • A Grade: Cohuna 49 def Tyntynder 35

The A-Grade girls delivered a composed four-quarter effort, controlling tempo and converting with accuracy.

  • A Reserve: Cohuna 59 def Tyntynder 46

Fast ball movement and strong connections in the goal circle saw A Res produce one of their best performances this season. Anthea Toma and Paige O’Connell were pivotal in the win.

  • B Grade: Cohuna 43 def Tyntynder 23

B Grade were on from the first whistle, applying pressure all over the court. Tegan Webb’s leadership shone through, and Breanna Wilson was clinical.

  • B Reserve: Cohuna 47 def Tyntynder 16

A commanding display from B Res, who dominated possession and capitalised on turnovers. Amy Farrant controlled the game through the centre, with Paige Mooring finishing well in goals.

  • Under 17s: Cohuna 73 def Tyntynder 40

A high-scoring and entertaining clash, with our U17s asserting control early. Jorji Easton and Zoe Pollock were standouts, helping the team push the margin out with poise and pressure.

  • Under 15s: Cohuna 27 def by Tyntynder 55

The girls fought hard but couldn’t match Tyntynder’s consistency. Lainie Spring and Emmy Easton worked tirelessly throughout the game and never gave up.

A gallant effort in tough conditions. Amelia Hammond and Demi Mathers stood tall and continued to show great improvement.
