ROUND 3 REVIEW

Under 12 Netball:

Wandella D Moulamein

Rumbold Auto Electrical: Ally Gillingham
Walkers IGA: Arlie Edwards

The under 12s put their training into practice on Saturday which saw the girls encouraging each other on the court, a lack of crowding and stepping and some great plays after turnovers. with a strong goal end, Wandella was able to secure another win!

Under 14 Netball

Moulamein 43 D Wandella 20

Critcton Ag and Handyman: Cody Wilkinson
Grays Bakery Voucher: Sophie Edwards

Our first quarter started off with some nerves from the girls. However the team slowly started to settle and the girls started to fight hard. They fought hard for every ball and although the score was not on their side, their determination never let them down and they kept their heads up high. During the second quarter the girls came out with some fire, and with fresh legs at our defensive end, they were playing even harder to attack the ball. They put pressure on the ball and bought their scoring percentage down as our defensive game was on! In the third quarter, they had another rotation through the mid and shooting ends as they started to score more goals. They started to bring down their shooting percentage and the girls kept fighting. We saw both of the teams give it their all and the Wandella girls showed how determined they were for possession of the ball, and just how great they can work as a team. During the last quarter the team had been changed again, to try something different. Things then went from strength to strength, and they showed how they can be flexible with their positions and that they could communicate effectively when needed. The last quarter really showcased the girls amazing teamwork and inspiring effort to continue fighting for the ball and giving it their all until the final whistle went! Although they were defeated they went out roaring. Overall, it was an exciting match filled with great sportsmanship and talent. Congratulations to all the players for their hard work and dedication.

What a tough defensive game this was. Girls, you believed in yourselves, and you did it. It was really tough, aggressive, and a little nasty from both team, but you girls stood tall and listened to what Coach Macey asked of you and you delivered. Congratulations, girls a great win.

The Wandella under 17.5s played a brilliant game of team footy with many goal scorers on the board even though it was quite windy. The game style was fast and long which suited the full forwards well. The team was umped with the win and look forward to build on their great performance.

A great first win for the B Reserve girls. An amazing strong first quarter set us up for the day. Shooting accuracy was strong all game, strong defensive pressure held back scoring opportunities for Moulamein and some amazing mid court play from Taylah and Rose . With a few players still to come back in, I think we are on the right direction for a competitive season.

And don’t forget the old boys- Jase Greenwood, Russell “KING” Waddingham and Michael Rowe. Thanks to the juniors for stepping up to fill the sides, Jasper Chamberlain, Kane Wilson, Axel Hancock. Some promising signs coming for the 2024 season.

Saturday, we took to the court against Moulamein. It was a tough game as we tried new combinations, but everyone went on and did there best working as a team. Whilst we has some lapses during the quarters which allowed Moulamein to build their lead we still played a strong game and the scoreboard didn’t reflect the competitiveness on the court. We have lots of potential and will continue to grow and develop.

Seniors

Wandella 123 D Moulamein 58

Although it look like inaccuracy might hurt, it was a good stat for the seniors, hitting the scoreboard heavy in the first quarter. For the second time this year a recruit has kicked the first of the game with returning legend Troy Robinson chalking up the first of many for him this year.
Our men were the dominant side all day, managing to share the goalkicking among ten different plater with the co-coaches taking 4 a piece. Its good to see out junior platers in Waddingham and Greenwood get themselves on the board also.
Moulamein gave it a crack with plenty of forward entries but the Bombers defense led by Jarred Schlitz proved to good rebounding will through Nathan Boysen and Kaine O’Connell.
Russell Rich was up to his usual stuff in the middle with good help from Tim Robinson.
