GRFNL Round 4 Netball Review

THE winning streak for Moulamein kept rolling in Saturday’s fourth round of A-grade netball in the Golden Rivers FNL competition. 

Moulamein was too strong at home for Wandella. 

A 17-8 opening term put the Swans in control as they won the second, 10-6. 

Wandella worked hard in the third term to limit Moulamein to nine goals as it added six. 

Final result was a 44-31 win for the Swans. 

Murrabit surged clearly after an evenly-fought first half to beat Ultima by 18 goals. 

At quarter-time it was Ultima which led 11-9, but Murrabit hit back to win the second, 12-9. 

The Blues dominated the third to led 35-27 at a quarter to play. 

Grace Gillingham went on to score 20 goals as Montana Keating, 19, and Lauren Morrow, 9, were on target in a 48-30 victory. 

Ultima’s attack was led by Ash Sanders on 19. 

Macorna won by 16 goals on Hay’s court. 

The Hay Lions worked hard to be within four goals at quarter-time and half-time. 

In front 27-23 at the main break, the Tigers slammed on 16 goals to just four in the vital third term. 

Asela Finch and Emmalea Wishart capped off Macorna’s moves by scoring 28 and 24 goals in a 52-36 result. 

Hay’s attack was led by Ellen Jamieson on 20. 

Standings in the Golden Rivers FNL A-grade netball competition: 

Moulamein 175 per cent, 12 points; Murrabit 168, 12; Macorna 114, 12; Ultima 107, 8; Wandella 62, 0; Hay 47, 0. 

In next Saturday’s fifth round, Ultima hosts Moulamein. 

The Tigers take on the Blues when Macorna faces Murrabit. 

Wandella is at home to play Hay.
