KOONDROOK BARHAM FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

Wow, another massive day at Raiders Central last Sat. when we hosted last premiers in Woorinen. Unfortunately for the Seniors it was a story of “Close but no Cigar”, however all other grades of footy got the choccy’s. Not a lot of joy at the netball with only our A Grade getting a win. Once again a huge thank you goes out to our volunteers who toiled all day, well done to everyone. Three of our young stars in Mac Lake, Tennnyson O’Neill and Tom Bell have made the CMFL Under 15 Inter League team, so well done boys, I’m sure you will represent the Raiders with distinction. Huge congrats to Marc O’Neill who played his 200th game last Sat. The wood raffle was won by one of our trainers in “Lucky’ Phil Beeson. Because of the split round it was good to see we had a full complement of umpires for the day. As said earlier we didn’t get the chocolates but we do know that we can match it with the better sides of the competition, so with the bye this weekend it gives us time to regroup, get over some niggling injuries and be prepared for Tooley-Manang the following week. Well done to netball leaders in Emma Peacock and Sheridan Harrop on being appointed to lead the CMFL netball squad in the Vic. Open Netball Championships in Melb. on the 14^th June ’26, a fantastic achievement.

The Seniors were definately not disgraced, some chances went begging and against quality sides such as Woorinen that is a no no!. Award went to Kye Attwell (Counterpoint Man of the Day), Marty Kelly (Barham Newsagency). Jack Poulton (Tudor Tavern), and Jacob Barrington (Raiders Towel), he continues to play well and his duel with Gardner was worth watching, others to impress were Liam Reid and Ryleigh Wilkinson.

The Ressy’s scored a pretty easy win, that’s 5 on the trot now and now sit on top of the ladder with a massive percentage!. Awards went to Louis Cain (Wes Hare Spraying “Scooby of the Day”), Mitch Koski (Matsey’s Hotel), Marc O’Neill (Tudor Tavern) and James Martin (Intersport), others to play well were Mitch Lowry and Nat Leonard. The Colts also scored a pretty easy win defeating a team that over the years has had the wood on them. Awards went to Riley Zielicki (May Family Socks), Nate Pretty (Tudor Tavern), Tennyson O’Neill (Don Taylor Pen), Max Snowdon (Wilma Bott Canteen voucher) and Jye Hamilton (Intersport voucher), others to play well were Lachy Maher and Dusty Bohn.
