Round 12 vs Tyntynder KBFNC Netball Notes

U13 Reserve

Score: Raiders 10 were defeated by Tyntynder 29

Award 1 went to Adelaide Hall

Award 2 went to Jojo Wescombe

Yet another awesome day in defence with plenty of “mad intercepts” as the girls put it. Some great work in attack but lots of silly mistakes let us down.

U13’s

Score: Raiders 18 were defeated Tyntynder 31

Award 1 went to Frida Mathers

Award 2 went to Chloe Lang

Great teamwork, we stuck with Tyntynder in the first half, small mistakes let us down in the end on the scoreboard but the girls all played well and backed up each other. Keep working hard at trainings girls!

U15’s

Score: Raiders 45 were defeated by Tyntynder 60

Award 1 went to Eloise Gardner

Award 2 went to Lucy Colville

Girls had a really strong first quarter. incredible turn overs and movement down the court. The momentum carried into the 2nd quarter. The girls had the fight and played hard. Unfortunately, the girls started tiring in the 3rd and lost a bit of their drive.

U17’s

Score: Raiders 41 defeated Tyntynder 39

Award 1 went to Ella Hall

Award 2 went to Ella Whelan

Really strong game today we played. Kept going through the high and lows and kept going until the end and got the win.

B Reserve

Score: Raiders 37 were defeated by Cohuna 49

Award 1 went to Mia Paul

Award 2 went to Jacinta Sleep

B Grade

Score: Raiders 42 were defeated by Cohuna 71

Award 1 went to Teaghan Verhallen

Award 2 went to Elektra Woolhouse

B Grade had a fantastic game today against Tyntynder. The girls played their own game and were rewarded with a 10 goal win.

A reserve

Score: Raiders 49 drew with Tyntynder 49

Award 1 went to Emily Copland

Award 2 went to Kristy Johnstone

Another tough day today but the girls pushed themselves to the very end. The girls had lots of turnovers all over the court with plenty of positives to take out of the game. Emily had good hands over the ball, with a rejection over her opponent and Kristy had strong drives throughout the centre position.

A Grade

Score: Raiders 50 defeated Tyntynder 27

Award 1 went to Remy Doyle

Award 2 went to Ella Hall

A very consistent four quarters from everyone today. Our defensive pressure down the court was excellent. Our attacking end worked patiently to give our goalers the best feeds possible. Emma Peacock used her voice to encourage and direct our team and won herself the Headspace ball. Let’s keep working hard and backing each other and the rewards will keep on coming.

KOONDROOK BARHAM FOOTBALL

The River Raiders played host to the Tyntynder Bulldogs last Saturday in the CMFL Headspace Round and the Seniors recorded their third straight win over the Dogs in what could be classed as an ugly but necessary win. A bit of undisciplined footy at times by both teams but one wonders are the players following the rules correctly, are they interpretating the rules correctly, are we with the AFL or the country rules!. So all our footy teams all had very good wins however a mixed bag for the netballers again but they still have quite a few teams vying for a place in the finals. Another big and night and day for the club last Saturday not only with a pretty successful day with the footy and netball, but also with our Goods & Services Auction held in the evening. A very big crowd was in attendance with plenty of bidding going on during the Auction. Okay onto the footy, as stated earlier it was an ugly win but a win is a win and we’ll take it anytime!. Awards in the Seniors went to Roy George (Counterpoint Man of the Day), Benji Neal (HMF Award), Nathan O’Toole (Barham Caravan Tourist Park), and Reagan Hamilton (Barham Hotel voucher). Others to play well were Paddy Goble and Isaac Corvo. Well done to young Joel Davidson on his first senior game, he stepped up with no problem whatsoever!. Also well done to young Kade Watts on his first senior game since coming back from injury. The Seniors still sit in 5th spot but now have a two game break over their nearest rival. The Ressy’s turned it on again against their opponents winning pretty easily. Awards went to Tom Amor (Wes Hare Scooby of the Day), Jake Lowry (Matesy’s voucher), Adam Pretty (Mitre 10 award, Brayden Turvey (Barham Hotel voucher), others to pay well were Louis Cain,Todd Frankling & Marc O’Neill. The Ressy’s now sit in 3rd spot four games clear of 6th spot. The Colts jagged another big win to further cement their place in the five, they now sit 3rd, two games clear of 6th. The Colts had another big win to further cement their place in the five, they now sit in 3rd spot, 2 games clear of 6th spot. Awards went to Kynan Laursen (Raiders Socks), Jye Hamilton (Don Taylor Pen), Lachy Maher (Wilma Bott Canteen voucher), and Ryder Laursen(Hard Yakka HMF), Coaches Cash went to Jaxon O’Rourke, Riley Zielicki also played well.

Okay, another league bye this weekend, talk about a stop start season, not much hope of getting some continuity in for the players, after this weekend we travel to Kerang in a must win game, then have another bye!.

Fair bit of controversy going on regarding this new league structure, there are more rumours flying around than an episode of the Real Housewives of Sydney!, interesting times ahead by the looks of it!!. After the Kerang game we have our Christmas in July at the clubrooms which is always an entertaining event.
