KOONDROOK BARHAM FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

What was that the Seniors dished up against Lake Boga!. Didn’t we realize a finals appearance was on the line, that loss has dented our finals hopes big time which is very disappointing considering the games we have won to make the top five and where we have come from in 12 months!. I probably should not say our finals chances are shot yet because the team that took our spot in the five is the team we play this week which is Tooley-Manang. The story wasn’t much better for the Ressy’s and the Colts with both losing their games also, however our Under 15’s won so it wasn’t a complete disaster!. So to sum up we will have 3 possibly 4 footy teams in the finals and a few netball teams because our netballers are still chalking up a few more victories. A Grade have assured their place in the finals with another good win which has seen them jump into 2nd spot, think we have got a couple of other grades competing for a top five spot. The Annual Ladies Day function was a resounding success, again, the clubroom was decked out to perfection for the event with plenty of food and refreshments available, raffles, lucky door prizes, auctions, you name it plenty of goodies were to be won. Huge thanks to Mikayla, Tegan, Sharri and Georgia who were the chief organisers, also many thanks to Alana Hill for the flowers etc., a job well done by all concerned. The Find the Footy comp. continues to be elusive for all who get a chance to win some good money. Onto the footy but I think the less said about the Senior game the better, awards went to Jack Thrum (Counterpoint Man of the Day), Lachy Bates (HMF Award), Jacob Barrington (Barham Caravan Tourist Park), and James Martin (Barham Hotel voucher). The Ressy’s also went down, they always seem to fine the Boga team a difficult opponent as they were last week, unfortunately injuries are happening at an alarming rate in the Ressy’s which doesn’t help. Awards went to Dudley Bibby (Wes Hare Scooby of the Day), Michael Grant(Matesy’s voucher), Jackson Flischer (Mitre 10 award) and Lachy Laursen (Barham Hotel voucher). The Colts also lost to a much better and stronger side in Lake Boga, however they have now dropped to 4th but they are another team who will hold onto their top five spot. Awards went to Max Snowdon (Raiders Socks), Riley Zelecki (Don Taylor Pen), Mitch Lowry (Wilma Bott Canteen voucher), and Adam Pretty (Hard Yakka

HMF), Coaches Cash went to Lachy Maher. The Under 15’s were our only winners for the day, they now sit 3rd on the ladder and are also guaranteed to play finals, their better players were Jakson Curry, Mac Lake, Tennyson O’Neill, Bailey Weston, Brodie hall and Eddie Puddick.

This week we hit the road again and believe me “hit the road again”, we have to go to Manangatang again, two years in a row now we have had this trip, how does this happen when it should only be every 2nd or 3rd year, what is wrong with the Tooleybuc ground or don’t they play footy there anymore!. WIN THE GAME RAIDERS!

GO RAIDERS

U13 Reserve

Score: Raiders 4 were defeated by Lake Boga 44

Awards went to Evie Murray and Bella Ferris

Seriously out gunned today but the girls did a great job of keeping the pressure on the whole game.

U13’s

Score: Raiders 16 were defeated by Lake Boga 50

Awards went to Tilly Turner and Chloe Lang

A tough game, just needed to settle and stick to our own game. Great defence and pressure but we just struggled with consolidating on our turnovers.

U15’s

Score: Raiders 30 were defeated by Lake Boga 76

Awards went to Meg McDonald and Makenna Hull

Girls had a tough game but they fought the whole way through. Girls worked really hard and had plenty of intercepts unfortunately Lake Boga were just a very strong team.

U17’s

Score: Raiders 32 drew with Lake Boga 32

Awards went to Taylah Prattnener and Ella Hall

Tough game this week both teams came out super strong and were neck and neck for the whole game. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get up but will be back and stronger next week.

B Reserve

Score: Raiders 20 were defeated by Lake Boga 52

Awards went to Kayla Drysdale and Katie McNeil

The B Res girls played an amazing game this week. We set our self a goal of reducing the difference from last game we played them and smashed it! The girls went out there nice and relaxed and played the ultimate team game to come away achieving our goal. It was such a lovely game to watch to see the girls out there enjoying themselves. Thanks to our junior girls for helping out again, we love having you guys too.

B Grade

Score: Raiders 34 were defeated by Lake Boga 53

Awards went to Hannah Gogoll and Macey Lake

B grade came up against a tough competition. With a team filled with fill ins everyone played beautifully. I am very proud of the team today.

A reserve

Score: Raiders 40 defeated Lake Boga 39

Awards went to Shanae O’Donohue and Sarah Lahy

Finally, another win for the girls! A tough game however, we managed to stay in front all game. We had great talk and backed each other up, the defence picked off some great balls and the shooters moved well all day. Shanae kept calm and shot well. While Sarah Lahy was strong down in defence.

A Grade

Score: Raiders 58 defeated Lake Boga 26

Awards went to Sophie Peacock and Emma Peacock

A full four quarter effort from the girls today seen us come away with a good percentage boosting win. Our attacking end was very patient, our goalies moved well together and our defence was on fire picking off ball everywhere. Great to have Sophie Peacock back in the mix her experience down at goal kicker excelled and Emma Peacock back at WD at her usual position helped bring ball down the court and her voice down court is just invaluable. Thanks to the girls who also sat on the bench.
